Our Daniel Vetró Stiftung is primarily dedicated to the needs of children. But of course this is not the only area to get involved in. There are many institutions doing wonderful work that we also find excellent. One project is the YOANDA coffee roasting plant in Wolfratshausen run by the Verein für berufliche Integration (Association for Professional Integration), which is dedicated to opening up opportunities and participation for people with a mental disability through work.
High-quality coffee, sustainably and fairly produced and traded
In the inclusive YOANDA coffee roasting company, people with and without disabilities work side by side. The motto of the company in Wolfratshausen is "fair - social - inclusive". When it comes to coffee, the focus is on environmental protection, sustainability and, of course, quality. YOANDA buys raw beans from Brazil, Costa Rica, India, Peru, Guatemala and Ethiopia. The coffee roasting company works with importers and farmers on a long-term basis to build up a stable network of trade relations. Everyone who participates pulls in the same direction: the best coffee is purchased as transparently, sustainably and fairly as possible, and the producers are supported through close, long-term cooperation.
YOANDA's sponsor, the Verein für berufliche Integration e.V. in Munich, was founded in 1987 to support people with a mental disability and to integrate them into the work process on an equal footing. People with and without disabilities are employed under the umbrella of the association. This creates and promotes understanding for each other. New opportunities as well as potentials of all employees are recognised and can be further developed. This serves as an important example of the compatibility of social entrepreneurship and economic efficiency.
In addition to the YOANDA coffee roasting company, the association has two other inclusive companies in the greater Munich area that offer jobs subject to social insurance contributions, especially for mentally disabled people: in the field of horticulture, the Hortus and in the field of environmental recycling, the company RAMADAMA.
