Encouraging children with animals and in nature: Münchner Kinder- und Jugendfarm e.V.

Surely no one doubts that it is good for us humans to spend time in nature and have contact with animals. This is exactly the philosophy that the Munich Children's and Youth Farm Association uses. It offers young people time out in its recreational facilities, under conditions similar to a farm, including contact with and care for animals.

Petting animals, learning about food, handicrafts, playing, romping and more

On the two farms of the association in Munich-Neuaubing and Munich-Ramersdorf, visitors have the opportunity to discover access to animals, nature and handicraft activities in a playful way. For example, there are guided tours of the animals and projects where children can learn exciting things about food and its origins. On the farm grounds there are not only animal stables and enclosures with guinea pigs, rabbits, goats, ducks and chickens, but also several bee colonies to discover, as well as a pottery studio, a metal workshop, a campfire site, a wetland biotope, a natural stone oven, a bicycle workshop and much more.

Learning for life through play

Also with our Daniel Vetró Stiftung, we believe that it is beneficial for the children's development to be active in nature and to get to know animals: this environment strengthens togetherness, promotes a sense of responsibility towards the environment and leaves plenty of room for creativity and imagination to develop. In addition, the children and young people can explore farm life and make contact with other peers. Friendships develop during sports and games. In this way, a stable basis for respectful and affectionate togetherness develops.
