More opportunities for the next generation with Gesellschaft macht Schule
With the Gesellschaft macht Schule Foundation, we support a Munich-based institution that since 2003 has made it its mission to give children and young people with educational disadvantages due to their background more opportunities. The focus of the foundation is on close cooperation with primary and secondary schools in Munich's socially deprived areas. The aim of the foundation is to strengthen the self-esteem of the next generation, to promote the individual talent of the children and young people and to convey the values of togetherness in the best possible way.
To achieve this, Gesellschaft macht Schule focuses on three project areas:
- „respect U“, in which the children's social and learning behaviour is promoted over four school years in three team training sessions (Team & Sport, Team & Play, Team & Dog) as well as accompanying offers from the areas of culture and movement.
- „empower U“, which contributes to personality strengthening and potential development for five school years in a modular programme, through the development of social behaviour, linguistic expression and career readiness. Important values such as democracy, respect and tolerance are taught.
- „Kultur, Sprache und Werte“: By means of various courses, attention is also paid here to strengthening the personality and promoting potential. The focus here is on the development of language skills and the teaching of basic values.
Strengthen the natural sense of unity
Our foundation primarily supports the "respect U" project area of Gesellschaft macht Schule. Because we think it is particularly important nowadays to stand together in our society for a natural sense of "we". Everyone deserves respect and no one should feel excluded because of their origin, skin colour, sexual orientation or other characteristics - actually something that should be a matter of course in our society. Unfortunately, many people still have to fight for this.

Furthermore, Gesellschaft macht Schule stands up for the following values, which are also ours: We want to do our part to ensure that young people, regardless of their cultural and social background, have equal opportunities in terms of education, as well as a professional perspective, experience stability and can live their own identity openly. Children and young people should be able to accept and integrate differences and even see them as enrichment: for lived respect and tolerance and for the strengthening of the feeling of being valuable - they themselves and everyone else.
